Keep the Pace

Keep the Pace

You know those days where you really feel in what we like to call the "flow"? Inevitably, something comes along and tries to knock you off the path of something that was going so wonderfully. My challenge for you today is to not let it. Turn your gaze. Step around it. Don't give it your time or attention. It's just trying to steal the goodness.

There is a flow, I do believe that. It's a larger flow that we can step into, be in the midst of, and bring to Earth what needs to be here. We must be very intentional to stay in the flow of what is going on around us. In fact, we really just have to be in step with what that is. When you are in step with somebody, you don't anxiously anticipate what they're going to do, that just trips you up. When you are in step with somebody, you don't stare at their feet, you won't know what's coming. When you are in step with somebody, you both walk along following the pace of that person but there is an intuition that keeps you in the same footing. That's where we need to stay.

When the obstacles come, refuse to give them your anger, your emotions, your attention. Just keep your pace. That keeps you in the flow of the goodness. That keeps your joy. That keeps you right where you need to be.

"Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit." (Galatians 5:25 NIV)

Photo Story: This was taken on a backpacking trip in Europe. We'd been traveling a lot of the day. We were almost to our destination, but we were exhausted. Our bags were heavy; our legs were tired; we weren't sure about our direction. In order to get where we needed and wanted to be, we had to just keep moving. It was right around the corner.
